This cat was dumped by someone whom he trusted and loved. After a few weeks on the street, and getting ill, this is what he looks like. The vet says he is very ill and that he cannot be saved. Poor, poor cat. Michelle, who sent this, said he is a very sweet cat. The caregiver is going down tomorrow to decide what to do. Posted by Picasa

Oh poor cat. The owner is really irresponsible and heartless.

Yes it was - the caregiver said it was 'blind'. This is what the poor thing looks like now.

many people abandon their cats and dogs with absolutely no guilt at all. I spoke to someone who told me her family just "threw away" their cat because he is old and incontinent.

hope that the blind cat can allowed to live his last days peacefully.

You wonder what kind of message they're sending to their kids too.

According to the vet, one eye has totally collapsed and the other has a big ulcer in it. When you look at the cat, you basically don't see any eyes at all. The cat was very sweet though; 'twas a tame, purry little one.

Poor cat - for all you know, the owners knew he was sick and tossed him.

They are bloody heartless beings! Don't mean to sound mean, but i pray the previous owner will get 100 times more suffering than that cat.

We talked to the caregiver about whether we ought to take this photo and give it to the person whom she thinks tossed the cat and say that this is *A* cat that got thrown out. She didn't think it would work though.

i'm not surprised with such attitudes, if they could do such a thing to animals, they could to another human being. what am i talking about, even their own aged parents are sent to old folks homes - just because their being sick and incontinent are a bit of a bother.

some 4 months back, i have this community cat who had caught the flu bug and i failed to treat her coz of her defensiveness. Her left eye was totally collapsed inward to the extend that i thought it has fallen off. But somehow after a few weeks, the eye gradually emerged from the pinkish hollow eye socket. She was ok now.

I guess this cat mentioned might have eye irritation either due to foreign bodies or cats flu that he kept rubbing both eyes and eventually causes the ulcer.

I have seen young kittens with flu lost their eyes.

Glad she's better now! If you have a problem like that again, drop me an email - we'll get you a cat trap.

We'll have to see what the vet says about the cat tomorrow.

I pray and hope the vet can save the cat and don't put the cat to sleep. Hope someone adopt the cat. I've seen blind cats lived a full term of cat life.
As to the heartless owner abandoning the poor cat, the owner will get a retribution.... if not in this life, it be in the next life.

The caregiver is very kind, and I am sure if there is a chance she'll try and take in the cat. However, chances of someone adopting a blind cat are unfortunately very slim in general - one lady has been trying to adopt out a blind cat for the last 3 years.

I just put a poor Siamese cat to sleep yesterday. It was very sad for me. He was very very sick and his owner wanted to just leave him outside the corridor to die on his own...'since he's dying anyway'..that's what they said!!! A kind neighbour and I can't bear to see him suffer and arranged to send him to a vet. The vet said both his kidneys were gone and he must have been sick for a very long time. He also had other problems and injuries. Anyway, we all thought it's better to just end his pain. But how can his owner just leave him to die like that??!! The neighbour asked them numerous times to send the cat to the vet but they never cared....hai.

sorry Dawn for this non-related post - talk about retribution which is mentioned by Aminah B : whilst serving his NS, me bro knew of this young 2nd Lieutenant who never failed to kick and abuse this stray dog that kept the soldiers at the barrack company accompanyin them on their night patrols. now, said 2nd Lieutenant was warned to stop his abuse but what was worse he giggled and laughed when the dog howled in pain.

and guess what? as a frontseat passenger one day, he and another officer - the driver met an accident. incredibly, the driver escaped with a few scratches. whilst this idiot became paralysed with a vegetative mental state. those in the camp agreed it was payback time.

so those who are heartless enough to abandon their old and sickly cats just because, they'd definitely get their comeuppance some day.

Wow - while I would never wish something horrible to happen to someone, I have to say that you do hear a lot of these stories floating around. Some people are superstitious - maybe they're listen and stop being unkind to cats!
