Marc, Michelle, Deirdre & Ching
Originally uploaded by dawnkua.

Marc, Michelle and I had lunch with Deirdre and Ching from SPCA. It's always good to meet up with other welfare groups to chat and swap ideas and thoughts.

my cat maneki died of kidney failure on tuesday. when questioned about any possible way to save her, the vet told us about this kidney transplant case. the cost is staggering - US$30,000 upwards. believe it is a drastic step even to save a beloved cat unless you are super loaded. even then, there are inherent risks. the money could be better spent to save many others out there (maybe just consoling myself as i don't have $30k even if i pawn off all my assets!). miss my maneki

I'm really sorry to hear that! It's a very tough choice and you're right - it is out of the range for most of us and it does bring up a lot of issues.

I hope you're doing okay.

There is a need for palliative care for animals in Singapore where animals with terminal illnesses can be managed well so that the animal and guardian can both experience death positively and with dignity.
