Service in Singapore

Service in Singapore

Article in the Straits Times today. 17% of people polled (though it is a small survey pool) said that they had encountered poor service in government offices in the past year, second just to hawker centres.

I think they ought to re-phrase the headline as - "Is there Service in Singapore??" Anyway, read the one about SIA - it's disgusting!

I have a classic story of service by government bodies. You can read the story here.

Tourists are still getting lost in Ang Mo Kio. Despite what I wrote, I've still been helping them with directions because they should not be victimised due to the incompetence and oversight of our civil service.

*cringe* it's the mentality...to ingrain service culture into civil service is damn tough. not even if they recruit from the private sector because the 'crab' mentality exists in civil service. it's really bad.

Back to my theory that to improve service in general, we need to start working on the government sector first.
