Another abused kitten?

Some disturbing news from some of the caregivers - apparently the guy in Bedok who was jailed for killing the kitten a few months ago has allegedly been found to have another badly injured kitten in his flat last night. The police were called in. I am trying to get hold of the SPCA to find out how the kitten is doing as well.

The feeders there did a good job of monitoring him. 'S', one of the feeders had told me she practically do 'night duty' in that area. i wish all the feeders well, and i hope the poor kitten will recover.

Please get SPCA and the police to rescue the kittens soonest possible and to prosecute this cat-killer again. This guy is mad and he has to be sent to the prison for many many years. It's best to send him to Institute of Mental Health for treatment. He needs to go to a mental hospital.

I wish all the feeders there monitor him closely and do not let him have any chance of murdering innocent kittens again.

I really appreciate the feeders to keep a close watch on this cat-killer. He is a dangerous man.

what to do? what to do?

how about considering the following

1. relocating as many cats from as wide a radius of this man's block as possible. i understand about the vacuum effect but this may be the best way to keep the cats safe in the short to medium term .
i am aware that he could also pick up cats from elsewhere but he needs a quiet place to carry out his grisly deeds and probably picks the cats up when no one is looking. that would probably mean around his house, probably late at night. so taking away the opportunity might help.

2. mobilise as many people in the neighbourhood as possible to help keep a look-out. caregivers and feeders cannot be everywhere all the time. put up notices about him and encourage them to speak up if they seem him picking up cats and kittens. i believe many people, even if they are not cat lovers, do not condone Hooi's behaviour.

3. work closely with the neighbourhood police post closest to his block to be more responsive to calls. if they are willing to consider putting together a pro-active plan of action, so much the better.

4. try to enlist the help of his immediate neighbours, since he carries out most of the killings at home. give them a list of numbers to call (including the police) if they see him taking a cat home. better still if they can confront and stop him. all of us have to rise above this none-of-my-business mentality when we see a crime being committed. standing by and doing nothing is as bad as doing it yourself.

this person is a bully and as with all bullies is likely to be a coward as well. if he knows everyone in his neighbourhood is ganging up against him, he might be cowed into stopping.

Yes unfortunately it was. I was told the injuries were just too bad to save the poor kitten. The man is in custody from what I understand.

This lonely man is not sound. What he really needs is help and counselling. If only the authorities would realise this and help him in the right way. Hopefully, the new court established for such "unusual" cases will make the right judgement that will help him this time. Haiz... I wish him well.

Poor kitty is gone. So unfortunate. I think this man is mad and who knows he might kill children if he can't find kittens.
Better put him behind bars for as long as possible. I think the judge was too lenient with him the last time and he starts killing again..... Maybe he likes to go back to prison again to have free meals because he can't find a job. Who will employ a mentally unstable person?

Is the police not doing anything to make the neighbourhood a safer place for the people and the kittens.

the law always seem to favor humans more than animals even though the perpetrator is the human. hope he gets a stiffer punishment this time.

i agree with Auntie P. the real solution is counselling cos he obviously has psychological issues. and it is in our interest as a society to make sure he gets it, since studies have shown that animal abuse seldom stops there but leads to violent crimes against humans as well.

if this case ends up before community court, i am rather confident that Judge Bala Reddy will do the right thing. he has been quite creative in the corrective measures he has doled out so far.

does anyone know how Hooi was nabbed this time?

I think this guy should not be out to the community...

Killing a human is charge as murder and be hanged...

How about abuse a kitten till it need to be put down?

Kitten are beings too...

He should be sentence for at least a 5 years or stay in the mental hospital...

He is a very very dangerous man. This time is kitten, if no kitten... then...

I think a year sentence is definitely too short to be a punishment for him.

I hope a petition will be set up and let the authority heard the voice
