Released just to be caught again?

I mentioned in a post yesterday that one of the town councils released some sterilised cats that had been trapped and the caregiver realised that several of these cats were someone's home pets. The caregiver walked by the area again today and realised to her horror that the owner had let the same cats out again! They have been microchipped and the owner was told to keep the cats in, but when the caregiver asked why the owner let the cats out, the owner said they make noise in the flat.

It's not as if this owner does not know the cats might get caught - they have been caught once already. The owner has also been told that the cats are not going to get a second chance if they are caught again. So it's not like the owner does not know the consequences or is just naive.

Owner is very irresponsible and has a careless attitude. If the owner is not interested in the cats, it is better to re-home them. This owner is useless and putting the cats at risks.

What a stupid owner. Not fit to keep cats. Better give up for adoption and let the cats have better homes.

This owner is not only stupid but very stubborn. Very foolish. Why risk the cats again. What happen if the cats get caught again? This owner is asking for trouble.

Unfortunately, it just does not get to some people. A lady in Toa payoh said the same about her cat making noise when not let out to do business and stretch. Claims her flat is too small. She has a kiteen and no doubt will let her roam as well. Have spoken to her many times..still, I can't police her all day. It's always the cats 'kerna' trouble.

if the owner confides the kitten in the cage whole day, of course, he will meow non stop because he wants to come out and play. kitten gets bored easily and like to be near people. but it is not true that kitten must be let out of the house. the owner can let the kitten roam freely in the house and i am sure the kitten is just as happy. pl talk some sense into this owner's head. i hv never let my kittens out of the house and i let them roam freely at home. they are still very happy and playing around. they even play hide and seek (under the bed, behind the cupboards, under the coffee table, etc.) i find this owner so stupid. Better teach her...

Anonymous is right - cats can be very happy in a flat. There is no need to let them out.
