"Attack cat"?

"Attack cat"?
Originally uploaded by dawnkua.

This may be the supposed attack cat. I spoke to a number of people in the neighbourhood and it seems that a LOT of people are looking after her and the other community cat I saw.

The TC emailed and said that another woman, also with a dog, had said she too had been attacked.

The problem may be that the cat sits near this shop that has a very narrow path running next to it. Next to that is a sheer slope. What I suspect may be happening (and what the residents around are also speculating on) is that the dogs may be walking too close to the cat for its comfort. It certainly wasn't unfriendly to me or to the half a dozen people standing and sitting with her.

Alternatively the complainant is not sure it is the same cat. His photo is rather blurry - and he claims the cat has no tipped ear.

Can we complain to the TC of resident's dogs attacking community cats?

That's actually what a caregiver in the area just said to me.

Sometimes I do wonder who gives us humans the rights to decide whose lives are more precious? Why can't both compromise to leave the strays alone? While thinking of our furkids (be it dog or cat) are so comfortable to have meals, toys & place to stay at home, and those strays need to fight for their living, it breaks my heart. : (

Sadly too, these people have dogs. I would have hoped they would have a bit of insight into animal behaviour - ie that animals don't just attack. Instead, this complainant at least is attributing all kinds of motive to the cats - revenge for example.

It is truly very sad at how some of us become so insensitive to others, including our own species, that on an emotional level, we are worst off than
It is really heartbreaking to see how tough it is for a community cat to survive - unsafe in carparks, unsafe in food areas, unsafe near childcare centres, unsafe when the "upstairs" cats are let out and defecate, unsafe near schools where they are at risk of being abused, unsafe near roads, unsafe in drains when they get swept away by a heavy downpour.
Sometimes I wonder why do our species consider itself so important and almighty when what we do everyday is just to make $$ to indulge in our insatiable desires. What benefits have we brought to this home called earth that we cut it up into "nations" to which we are "brainwashed" to die for and each competiting to excel in material wealth, stripping this fragile earth bare of its resources.
And we claim we are the smartest, the inheritors of this earth.
In reality, we are the crueliest and the destructor.
Is there salvation yet?
