Feral cat

Feral cat

This lovely feral cat was outside. I've noticed more cats around but also that they are much more frightened of people in general than the cats at home. Poor cats at home are getting soaked - poor cats here are preparing for a harsh winter.

This fellow looks big and strong. And he's already padding on the blubber.

Rain's here been letting up - hopefully, there'll be no more super-drama torrents.

Hope someone or the shelter people take them in during the winter season.

Anonymous - I don't think it's possible to take every feral cat in during the winter, but those with caregivers are given regular food and care, just like our cats. During winter, as during our rainy season I think, the mortality rate is higher.

As for this guy, I heard he's been seen around the neighbourhood for years, though not regularly.

Winter can be very harsh and brutal for animals. Great to see this guy year after year, coming back once a while. It is like seeing your old friend again :)

maybe they could leave a warm shed for them. Winter can mean minus zero and hope they all could sleep together to stay warm.

I think the smart ones do learn to survive and adapt - unfortunately some do perish, but it's the same here. I think there's higher mortality rate during the rainy season (like now).
