Another letter on the HDB rule against cats. I'm glad so many people are writing in! This makes a good point which is often brushed aside - the rule is not being fair to responsible people who take good care of their cats.
Ruling on cats is not fair to responsible owners

How did the Bukit Purmei talk go?
Going to post photos and a writeup in a while.
Singapore needs cats as pets, too stressed up in a pressure cooker.
Cats should be promoted as pets in offices as well as HDB flats.
Nice! In one of the offices I used to work in,my boss used to bring her cats in sometimes.
good letter. more of these pls.
as far as pets go, cats and dogs should have equal 'rights' to living in a HDB flat. dogs do bark and very loudly too. especially small dogs. i'd complain abt that if a neighbor lets the dog bark all day.
some pple also will compare that to babies crying. ;P
and if it's an issue on defecation, smells etc, then it doesn't matter if it's a cat/dog/baby. the onus is on the owner/caregiver to keep them clean.
The problem with these psychotics with no insight is that she causes so much harm to others, especially when she pressurises a timid town council officer. What is the town council's official stand towards this complainant? Are the cats safe?
