A very nice article that Vegancat alerted me to about Edgar Lu. I've had the good fortune to meet Edgar and his lovely family and they are wonderful people. They've opened up their home to several community cats - and they are the ones who say they count themselves lucky.

Too often people say they are too busy or don't have time to look after their cats - but Gina got their cats afterward to keep Edgar company which is a change. One of their cats also has a serious medical condition but that didn't stop Gina from taking it in.

This cat Sparky is a community cat from Blks 300+ in Jurong East, the very place where many cats were killed - it just goes to show how many feline lives were unnecessarily wasted when they could have been a useful part of the community. I hope this article makes people look and think about cats differently, in a positive light, and help persuade the authorities to grant them legal status in HDB apartments.

cats are generally low maintenance (i don't mean this in a bad way), independant and great company!

i always look forward to opening my front door when i go home from work everyday knowing that my kitties will be there to greet me.

and they kind of take on different "duties". one of my kitties obviously has the job of keeping me company when i am on the move. he follows me wherever i go and is generally v alert (mainly cos he is always up for a game of swing the fishing rod toy) while the other is a self appointed naptime buddy, jumping onto the bed to keep me company whenever i want to sleep. :)

my mum said i am getting nuts over cats as I am constantly talking to her about my house cats and the area ones as well.
But i told her the cats keeps me going. I used to be a BIG potato couch. Now I learn responsibility. I was mostly late and take cab to work. Now hardly as I wake up early to feed the area cats and save my cab fees to buy food for them. The cats realy make me a better person tho I must admit I really am a cat talker. I hope I don't frighten off my boyfriend some day..
