St Martin De Porres

Thanks to Profpig for sending me this very interesting read :-

St Martin de Porres

I never realised there was a Catholic saint who was supposed to have healing powers for animals and people. What I liked especially was that he represents the ability to bring reconciliation among people and animals! We certainly need more of that around :)

One of my favourite saints (and I'm not even Catholic!). When I was in Assisi years ago, there was a statue of St Francis - the guide told us there is always a real bird sitting in his cupped hands, and indeed there was.

Is God on the animals' side?

LOL. St Francis is always known to me as the preacher to the birds. He's just so cool.

Actually the Patron Saint of Cats is St. Agatha. Though seriously from what I read about her, she just seems to be more of a mice repeller.
