Identification

I'm surprised how many people call up, check if they have the right number and then launch into their story, without identifying themselves. These are people who have never spoken with me before and not people who might assume I recognise their number or their voice.

When I ask them what their names are, some of them sound reluctant to give me a name, others just sound surprised. Do people not identify themselves when calling a stranger anymore?

I just had an officer from one of the TCs call up and check if it was the right number because he wanted to give it to complainants, but who also did not give his name till I asked for it.

Lack of manners. I have people who wants to adopt animals or need help, they don't greet you and demand you solve their unwanted pets problems.

No manners, no appreciation and very demanding. Now you can understand how much their pets suffer with arrogant, uncaring owners.

Cats at least know how to greet you. We should strive for ' zero bad manners ' campaign.

Typical "stupid" TC officer who is quick to pass the buck to you or caregivers instead of politely asking for advice on how to resolve the problem. This is a carry through of his or her past pass the buck to pest controllers!

I've always believed there ought to be some classes on courtesy / social graces in the pri/sec schools, to teach even basic things like phone courtesy, how to behave in public places, how not to stick your legs out into the already cramped, standing passengers on the mrt when you're already seated so comfortably, etc. coz I find the state of public manners going downhill.

Many of us would have picked up the phone at some pt and the caller would ask, "Who are you?" in various dialects. i used to be dumbstuck how rude ppl could be; now i just laugh very loudly and hang up. Confuse the caller a bit also good ; )
I paid to transport/sterilise a cat i have never seen - not the slightest hint of thanks from care-giver. True lah i did not get him sterilised. On second thought, perhaps care-giver was expecting me to thank him - boy, where are my manners?

Your cat greets you? You have a very polite cat! That's more than what mine does. He just turns up at the door when I return, so that he can roll his eyes and walk off.

If cats could answer phones..

Caller: "Hi, can I speak to X?"

Cat: "No."

Caller: "Oh, is he unavailable?"

Cat: "I don't know."

Caller: "When will he be free?"

Cat: "I'm bored. Bye." *click*
