Cats in Bathroom

Cats in Bathroom
Originally uploaded by dawnkua.

The next lot of cats were supposed to go in this morning for sterilisation, but E_Cat and the caregiver were told by the owner yesterday that she didn't think she wanted them sent in today. She said that she was sick and that the cats were sick too. The owner has also just lost her new job.

The caregiver and E_cat tried to go visit. The caregiver was informed by the owner through SMS that she wants to give the cats away to a friend. She tried to ask to visit but I understand the SMS was not responded to. They are still trying to see if they can take a look at the cats.

What's going here? Cats appear to be locked up in cage all the time?
Why cats not well, why ' give ' away? Is owner alright? Need financial assistance? Let's hope for the best esp the sterilisation team.

cat talk - owner needs financial assistance - which is being provided. She is not being asked to pay for anything. We don't know why she suddenly has made the decision to give them away. We asked her to consider putting them up for adoption and she didn't seem comfortable with that earlier. E_Cat and the caregiver are hoping to try and find out more.

Good news! I contacted the owner and she has agreed to let us visit the cats tomorrow. Good thing she is feeling better also. Her employer sacked her cos she has not been well. Her house is usually very dark as they cannot afford to turn on the lights much. They are paying utilities via the top-up 'thumbdrive'.

when will these people ever, ever, ever stop imprisoning cats just because because because they meant well. please dawn, please e_cat, please get these poor cats out of the cage. cat talk, the owner here is surely NOT alright. regular folks do not go about taking in cats and then locking them up in a cage and put the cage inside the bathroom!?!! somebody please sternly warn this owner to stop her nonsense. oh please, go get some help and whatever help if you are sick and ill and cannot afford to turn on your house lights too much and your new employer told you to you and whatever. Just please just leave the cats alone. Please don't lay your hands on another cat EVER. Please, for goodness' sake and more importantly, for your own good sake.

The good news is E_Cat went by again on Saturday - and the cats are out. I'll post photos in a bit.

These are for families that are low income - meaning they have a meter outside their homes which can be topped up via cashcard. So they pay for electricity as they use it basically from what I understand.
