I don't know what happens to the cats

I just had a fairly long conversation with someone who went to see their MP last week with some other caregivers. She said that they had put forward their desire to help and to offer their services where needed. Having spoken to another caregiver in the area, it seems the ex-RC chairperson was there and kept insisting that it wasn't fair to tell people in their area that cats would be killed. They were only 'removed'. He claimed that the RC had no idea what happened to the cats after they were sent to the AVA.

I have to say that I am surprised that people still trot out arguments like that. Honestly, if you are having cats removed, shouldn't one find out what happens to them - especially if you're supposed to be in charge of asking them to be removed? As an analogy, it's as if someone claims that they sent Jewish people to Treblinka during World War II but had no idea what happens to them there.

At the end, it seems that the RC did offer to work with the caregivers, but so far there's been no followup. It's good that the woman I spoke to said she will press on.

I think it will be very educational to organise a tour for RC people as well as TC people to see what happened to the cats "removed" by witnessing the REAL event at AVA. If only, if only...
Is this the only way to remove their blinker of denial?

so crappy huh? coward we are, are we not? being unable to face the cold truth that these cats and dogs are being killed. hey anonymous, i wish to, tours for all to see the horrific abuse of animals up to today's time but i doubt. we just refuse to face the truth. sometimes, i don't even think we are cowards, i think we are just plain evil.

Anonymous - I agree that the problem is sometimes people DON'T want to know. I asked someone once if I could get the AVA to call them and let them know the cats are put down - and they refused.

Hi last Anonymous - your post might be potentially defamatory because the place you mentioned can be identified from your message so I'm taking it down. I would suggest though that if you have proof of what you mentioned that you please report it to the police and the AVA.

the ex-chairman pretended not to know ' removal' meant culling.

Residents must be informed that removal is about killing, pretending not to know or give a wrong version is encouraging lying. Shame to those who seek to represent residents and yet have no basic honesty and integrity.

Who do you think they are trying to undermine?

hi dawn, oops - thanks for taking the post down. i was thinking that so long as no specific name is mention, it cannot be defamatory even if that terrible petshop was somewhat identifable. i haven't reported the case because my friend's sister (i know her personally but we are not first friends per se.) refuses to "testify". the facts are real because she works there as a groomer and she knows what her so-called colleagues do to the dogs that are sent there. as for the horrible home breeding by the stupid woman store manager (and possibly the proprietor himself), it's true but how to prove. and what is there to prove? it's sickening that we do not need a license to breed and sell live animals such as cats and dogs here. she has since left that petshop. anyway, for those reading this comment, do take precaution when you send your dogs and cats for grooming at typical petshops (read: those that tend to sell animals for quick money). your pets are sometimes being abused and "being have fun with" by sickos. just like if you send your daughter or son to a home care, there are sad cases where they may be abused by someone in the home without your knowledge. and animals cannot speak. please, when you patronise petshops for your supplies, please open your eyes and make judgement on whether you can do the minimum of not letting these shops earn your money. there is blood in their hands, don't be an unknowing partner. many animals are in great pain, stop animal abuse through informed consumerism.
