Kitten on chair

Kitten on chair
Originally uploaded by dawnkua.

E_Cat, Rebecca and I went to a home this afternoon. The woman living there is going through some personal issues and cannot afford to sterilise all her cats as she is in financial difficulties.

As we walked by her neighbour's home, we caught a whiff of cat urine. We were told by the woman we spoke with that her neighbour had dozens of cats in the flat - even though all the doors and windows were tightly closed, the smell was still wafting out.

haiyoh, haiyah : ANOTHER case of such. even if you sterilize your cats, it is cruel to have too many within a space. it's not about sterilization anymore, it's about being mental and animal abuse through hogging. dear dawn, any help required for this case?

In the case we visited, it's not really an issue - the woman seems to be quite responsible but in financial problems right now. The case next door may be a problem though. The woman we met with says she is on good terms with her neighbour and will ask her to call us.

okay, think we'll help as many as we can. do let me (and whoever willing) know specifically what are the items this lady with some financial problems will require during this bad patch? eg. cat litter, sterilization sponsorship per cat basis (ie. how many cats to sterilize), cat food. i can find some sponsorships and have them directed to someone who's co-ordinating. btw, if any of you here with tendency to hoard or feel very compelled to help a cat when you see one, please, please, please pause and think twice. try to practice a little self-control. learn to force yourself to stop. grit your teeth and stop. seriously, force, force, force yourself to will-power. be encouraged, be willed, it can work.

sorry, the 'help a cat' mentioned above was meant as a sarcastic form of 'help'. i am refering to those people who thinks they are helping a cat by bring it home to suffer as a victim of being hoard hell-holes and cages. - anonymous9:17am-
