I just spoke with a caregiver who is having problems with someone in her estate who is complaining about the two cats in the carpark. Apparently the complaint is that they are 'dirtying' his car. She asked to speak with him, but the complainant who is a Residents' Committee (RC) member, either does not want to, or the TC is reluctant to let her speak with him. She said when the TC went down, they spotted the grand total of one cat in the area. She will be seeking her MP's advice on the matter.

Another caregiver wrote about the survey done in her area with the RC members - they did a survey to find out how many people wanted the cats removed and a sum total of three people responded and so it was decided that they would be taken away. She called up and found they would only remove the unsterilised cats.

It doesn't of course mean that all RC members are terrible. Some are very nice and helpful. One of the RCs opened their premises for our use during Spay Day for example. In that RC though, one of the caregivers had signed up to help and so all cat related matters were referred to her. She was also able to bring more insight about cats to the rest of the RC members - and that helped the cats in her estate. So it's a good idea to get to know your RC or to join even if you can spare the time.

Why are RC members given VIP status? Isn't this nepotism? Surely this is wrong. A good reason to join the RC.

Bloody stupid, just because 3 morons want the cats removed that means everyone has to listen to them? No cats should be getting culled in the first place..
