No free parking for RC members

I spoke to the helpful man at the HDB Car Parks Operation Division again. He confirmed that everyone must have a parking label if they wish to park in a season parking lot OR a coupon parking. He says most of the parking labels can be issued on the same day. If he chooses not to get a parking label, then he must park in the coupon parking lots and display a coupon.

He also said that RC members have to pay for season parking labels just like everyone else, and as the RC member confirmed, there's just a little additional code at the bottom that marks them as an RC member but that's it. He said that they are allowed to park throughout the GRC in the usual non-season coupon parking slots with the label but only during the usual coupon parking hours. However they MUST pay for the label and there are no exceptions.

I mentioned that he had no road tax label and he said that was a pretty serious offence under the LTA as far as he knew.

He said that he was very surprised to hear this was an RC member. He also mentioned RC members are to promote rapport and harmony in the estate and this man doesn't sound like he has been.

Rebecca and I are heading out for a meeting now, and then I have an interview afterward.

Hi Dawn, sorry if this is out of topic, but I noticed the CWS adoption page has suddenly become shorter, i.e. it seems to have fewer cats on the page than previously? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, I'll have to get my foster cats reposted for adoption.

Hi Dawn,
I'm one of the caregivers disallowed to join u guys for the Wed meeting with this Ar*eho#e, I think we have a very strong point here, RC members should serve the residents, NOT be served and gave us so much troubles.

MP and TC shud be thankful we are around to mediate voluntarily,

would you join in to speak with our MP on this point (the parking offense's a good supportiv statement on this crook's personality)

hope one of u have taken his picture, can't wait to get my hands on his neck.

Please send in your cat's adoption posting if it is not on the cws adoption bulletin board & it will be reposted. Yes, fewer cats on adoption page-not intentional, probably technical hitch. Adoption volunteer.

'Promote neighbourhood harmony' this was the reason I gave when one of the RC members was extremely rude and demanded cats not to be fed across the street where he lived. If RC memeber makes a nuisance of himself, he should be served with warnings and if no improvement, be expelled.

Yes it certainly is sivasothi!

KM - I cannot attend a meet the peoples' session as I am not one of the residents in the area. If your MP is agreeable to meeting me at a separate session I am more than happy to attend.

Could the complainants have wilfully removed the season parking label and the road tax label because he was paranoia that one of you might get some info about him from there?

We thought of that but couldn't imagine what personal information either label would show. At any rate, the caregiver is going to check again to see if it's up.

Hi Dawn, you may want to verify that if a person has indeed paid for his road tax as well as his season car parking, his car's license plate no. is already registered in the system, so that even if the labels are not displayed, a quick entry of the license plate into the hand-held devices they are issued with, will notify the car park attendants or traffic police that the relevant fees are paid. So there's no offense committed.

mr giggles - I did think of that, but you are expected I believe to display them. For example, on the LTA site I mentioned earlier, it clearly states you must display the label within 14 days on the windscreen of the vehicle for road tax.

As for the season parking label, I believe that needs to be displayed too. Otherwise it just seems administratively a hassle if everyone decides not to display it. There must be some reason why you are given the label in the first place really. I can email and check that again.

If road tax disc & season parking label need not be displayed, why issue them in the first place? Reciepts would suffice.

Is he exempted from displaying roadtax and carpark labels? If yes, we like to know why. Can the relevant authorities clarify?

The caregiver is trying to decide what steps she wants to take next. Bringing it up to the authorities may be one of those steps.

This RC member sounds unstable. But I suppose it doesn't help to point that out. The only good thing about this is that he is so unreasonable that he is likely to make others sympathise with the caregivers. Too bad you couldn't tape his hostile and unreasonable remarks as evidence that he's unfit for his office.

to protect yourself in case of violence and verbal abuse, leave a hiden camera rolling. Can be in a shopping box, just aboiut anywhere.

If the guy is a psychiatric case, easier to prove in court. Without evidence, he may say you attack him instead.

you are suppose to update you season parking coupon monthly. if not they will issue a warning letter and subsequently a summon.
