Russian woman with cats in her flat

We've been speaking about shelters and catteries and here's a video Simian sent me of a Russian woman with 130 cats in one flat. I must say the cats look quite well fed from the video and the flat looks pretty clean. I was looking for the sandtrays in the video but didn't see any - unless there are other rooms which must essentially be one giant toilet for the cats.

Chances of cats exhibiting behavioural problems like spraying, inappropriate elimination, diseases spreading more easily, like cat flu or even FELV, excessive licking due to anxiety and others increase quite significantly once there are too many cats in one place together.

Wow! I like the way she feeds them, like feeding the chickens or birds.
It is a wonder that the cats are pretty healthy and clean.

this woman is downright cruel. No matter how clean or well-care e cats are, there r just 2many cats in one small rm.Unless it's a big
outdoor enclosure, there should not be more than 10cats in a small apartment.
The cats r definitely not happy, some kitties will bully e other cats as well.
Better leave them where they r,and give them food.Sterilise n they can take care of themselves.

They seem to be starving, i don't see my cats jumping like that for any of their meals, they would just wait patiently. The kibbles is thrown onto the floor, i wonder how she ascertain if all the kitties had their fill.

The floor full of fur. Should have shelves and walkways. Guess without her, the strays would have died during cold winter.

The woman has a strange way of feeding her cats, but i suppose there are just too many of them!
As long as the cats look healthy, not caged, not living in filth, not fighting or stressed, there are no right or wrong ways. No kittens too. It will be very cold out on the streets in winter so perhaps the cats know they are in a better position and behave.

I think it's very hard to tell from one video. It's true the cats may have died from a hard winter, but a lot MORE cats might die from disease because they are put in a close situation where disease is rampant. I have heard of people who take in quite a few cats into their flats, and the cat population decimates due to disease.

Are the cats spayed or neutered?
