Abused cat and kittens

Abused cat and kittens
Originally uploaded by dawnkua.

Thanks to Haliza for sending this photo in. This is the abused cat with her two kittens which she gave birth to, the day after she was beaten and abused. Apparently, she is not blind in that her eyes respond to light, but that the damage to the brain has somehow affected her sight. She also had to be force fed at the outset.

These are the two surviving kittens. Haliza is concerned that they may have been injured as well.

I spoke to the witness as well yesterday. The witness is going to be identifying the suspects from some photos after work today.

It's good that the witness is coming forward. Hopefully this incident can be highlighted and stop it from happening again.

hi dawn, sorry this is a little out of topic from the post. but me and my friends were just wondering about this - what would be the right/best thing to do when we encounter a dead animal on the road?

Please tell the witness that we will be extremely grateful to her for taking the bold step to nap that callous culprit.

Anonymous - it really depends on what you want to do. Some people move it off the side of the road, others might bury it. Frankly, there's not much more that can be done for the cat obviously by the time it's dead.

Poor mommy cat look young. Kittens look fine but as said there might be internal injuries.Great that caregiver giving them the needed love and care.
Hope such future cruelty be prevented with the brave effort of the witness.

Am glad justice may be served in this case.

Pyometra cat's family insisted the cat was fine and did not want to go back to the vet.

The police looked into the MMS kicking case and I believe he was sent for counselling.

why not reported in the media? Any reason for shielding him from public? Who is counselling him?

No - just that I don't have any more details as the SPCA was the one more involved in the case. I believe it was in their newsletter and I believe they are the ones who were involved in the counselling.

this mother cat and her two kittens must be kept at home for safety reasons. it's so unsafe and dangerous to put them back on the streets. hopefully the fosters will look after them for a very long time, as long as they could. such a lovely cat and she looks pretty young... her coat color is beautiful...
