Cats and Pit bull fighting

One of the issues that was mentioned about cat issues in Baltimore, where I am right now, is that in pit bull fighting - which is unfortunately becoming more prevalent - it seems that some people toss cats (or other animals) to the pit bulls for practice. One of the ladies I was speaking with at Alley cat Allies was saying that people have been known to pick up their pit bulls and toss them into colonies of cats to let them practice on the cats. She had asked if we had experience with dogs killing cats in Singapore - I emailed back to say that while there are cases of dogs killing cats, those are usually dogs that are themselves homeless and usually abandoned/left behind. There have even been cases of people letting their dogs off leashes to chase cats - but so far I have not heard of cats being used for practise for dog fighting.

It's terrible what people will sink to do - and not just to the cats, but to the pit bulls and other animals that are thrown TO the pit bulls.

I'm utterly grossed out.

At the pathetic nature and no ounce of moralcy that these humans have who made these animals turn into what they were not in the first place.

They will go to hell and be toss about by the burning flames. To prevent copycat killing, I will not describe the scene in Singapore.

For one thing, most people have to pay a hefty deposit to own a pit bull in Singapore if I'm not wrong. The sad thing is that apparently the dogs will fight to their deaths because they think that's what their owners want them to do and they want to prove their love.

Their sick owners urged them to fight and I hope those owners enter hell where they can fight with other equally evil bastards
and their descendants will be cursed.

I am not sure how many cats die in pitbull fights, but 13,000 homeless cats get put down every year in Singapore. So as far as I am concerned, those who abandon their cats and those who refuse to get theirs fixed are as bad as the pitbull owners.

A very good point yskat - and even more companion animals are killed in the US every year. That's why TNR is ACA's main focus - along with how to become a no-kill nation.

Sterilise all the cats in Singapore so there will be no more cats, they don't deserve to suffer.

Here we try to appear civilised but 13,000 died from many of the humane sounding regulations, in practise, culling is made e-z.

( like cats being nomadic in nature etc. what do HDB really know about cats? )

I just received HDB's reply on why the ban on cats in flats stay, with the usual cats being nomadic blah blah blah reasons and that irresponsible cat-owners may not follow regulations even if in place. Why don't HDB evict litterbugs from their flats then? Anyway, I have sent a reply to repudiate the reasons they give me. Looking forward to more standard template replies...

Read in a blog that when complaint(s) were made about elderly persons gambling on the stone table in the void deck-TC officials removed the stone table and stools. Note elderly folk are free to gamble elsewhere or on the floor of void deck. So long something is seen to be done.

So if someone complains about sterilised cats (with care-givers) in the void deck, how? Remove the void deck lah and give contractors more work and money.

TC officials' mentality is a class of their own - our Mr Bean.

They build useless, decorative ugly structures and ask you to be proud of your neighbourhood. Use fanciful names for HDB estates and hope you can have a sense of pride and belonging...yet they remove the much needed stone tables and chairs the elderly.

They try to take away the dignity of the elderly and for cats, they simply have them killed.

By refering to old template replies, they can never overcome their shortcomings. They depend on malfunction fixations like " cats are nomadic in nature ..."

Is it possible it might have been an animal control facility responding to a complaint? Sometimes they pick up whatever cats are there.

Also did they step in your yard? That might be a case of trespassing.
