Cats in private estates

Bad news for those caring for community cats in private housing estates. It seems that now if the cats are caught, they will be microchipped before being returned as well and since there is no management committee governing the estates, this means that they cannot get a letter from any authority (unless you happen to be in a private estate with a management committee). This is a setback from community cat caregivers in private estates - and again I am not sure why the change in policy. We're trying to find out.

private estate has the RC committee as well, they can't possibly say the place has no governance. How many godfathers or godmothers do they need for authorisation? They are starting their nonesense again...busy ploting how to kill cats and dogs.

Not all of them do actually. Many of the private estates don't.

Then the animal welfare must be stakeholders one way or another.
Voidness of being can mean culling for AVA.

hi dawn - what does it mean: "microchipped before being returned" ? does this mean that if my community cat is caught, she won't be put down but microchipped then returned?? i'm taking care of 3 cats at a particularly super anti-cat private estate. all the cats are spayed with tipped ear and i lost one of them last month. i am very worried. thanks, orange.

Sorry Orange for some reason my earlier reply didn't show up. Please call the AVA and check if your cat is there first of all.

The cat will be returned - BUT only if you call and claim her. If not, they won't even know whom to contact.

have check with AVA shortly after his dissappearance. this isn't the first time but for all the calls (not just this once or this time) made to AVA, the officers will tell me that they did not have any stray/tipped ear cat from the area i mentioned. thanks, orange.

Sorry to hear it Orange - but do call if any of your other cats go missing. Have you found out which neighbours complained and tried to speak with them?
