AVA Roadshow this weekend

The AVA is holding a roadshow this weekend at Ngee Ann City and several animal welfare groups will be there including Action for Singapore Dogs, ACRES, Animal Lovers League, HRSS and SPCA among others. We will be there too of course and Jacin and Michelle were at the warehouse two weekends ago packing for the show (and generally packing up) with a volunteer.

The theme of this year's show is Do not Abandon your Pets so do drop by if you're in the area!

I noted that many times the roadshows were held at central area or "bigger" shopping malls. It'll be good that we can hold it at heartland malls too so that it reaches out to more aunties, uncles and children.

why does e AVA advocate 'responsible pet ownership',when they in fact help in culling cats/dogs?
Wat e AVA should do is ,being a large government organisation, appeal to HDB to remove e ridiculous ruling on cats, and allow all register cats to be kept in flats. And then those nasty neighbors will not be able to get responsible cat owners in trouble,by making anoymous complains.

Maybe all of should us just go down, and throw all those questions to AVA. Then maybe they start to realize how MANY responsible HDB pet owners there are and hopefully they will seriously plan to work hand in hand HDB to review their 20 yr old stinking no cat in HDB policy.

Anonymous we have held roadshows in smaller malls but not all the 'heartland' malls sponsor space as well.

Apple - that would be great :)

The annual roadshow is a rather pretty event, but public still has no idea about suffering and culling of animals at killing facilities.

AVA must sterilise cats too, AVA must also convince HDB keeping medium size, non-pedigreed dogs are eligible for licencing and not leave it to the animal control, culling unit to scare you with rabbies and etc.....

AVA must be transparent to taxpayers on how it kills the animals in its premises. It has repeatedly rejected SPCA's requests to witness how the animals are killed.
It will also be good to let the public see how the animals are killed to squash rumours that the animals are being electrocuted after wetting them with water!
The public will also curb their whingering when they can SEE what their complaints lead the animals to, except for the few like Tony Tan of Seletars Hill who rejoice in the killing of cats!
