It seems that the Residents Committee, which was offering cat traps for free, may have acquired a few of their own so they're not borrowing so many from the AVA any longer. It also seems that not as many cats are being sent into the AVA. I checked with one of the feeders there if the man is still trapping the cats and she said she's been too busy to check.
It is a shame that the owners/residents in the area are not more active. I do know there are several people who feed/own cats/ feel strongly that trapping should not be done continually over the years and I am sure that their residents' association would listen to them as residents. I've had several people call to complain to me about the estate and the trapping going on. One woman has written in twice this year to say her cat is lost - but unfortunately no one seems to have approached their association or taken any further steps.
